Swelter

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-10

Short version: Swelter has no backend, and your heat log never leaves your device. There is no server we run and no account to create.

No backend, no accounts

Swelter does not have a server. There is no sign-up, no login, and no user database. Everything the app computes — the heat index, the WBGT estimate, and your private heat log — happens on your device.

Location

If you allow it, Swelter uses your device’s location on-device to request current weather from the National Weather Service’s public API (api.weather.gov). That request goes directly from your device to api.weather.gov — it does not pass through any server we operate. You can skip this entirely and enter temperature and humidity manually.

The heat log

Your logged readings are stored locally on your device. We never receive a copy. You can export it to CSV at any time and delete entries whenever you like.

Purchases

The one-time Pro purchase is processed by Apple and verified using RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a purchase record and an anonymous, RevenueCat-generated app-user ID to confirm your unlock — never your name, contact details, or heat-log data.

Analytics on this website

This marketing website (swelter.app) — not the app itself — uses standard, aggregate web analytics (Vercel Analytics and, optionally, Google Analytics) to understand traffic to these pages. The iOS app does not include any analytics or advertising SDK.

No advertising, no data sales

We do not run advertising inside the app and we do not sell data to anyone.
